This project attempts to capture the essence of salt by imagining it personified. The substance has the power to be harmful or even fatal if too much or too little is present, and also the power heal, sustain, preserve at the adequate amount. It overwhelms in excess and underwhelms in absence. Salt is arguably the crux of all flavor, the deal breaker of something being appropriately seasoned. It is also imperative to some spiritual practices, thought to cleanse and to provide protection when used the correct way.

I imagined someone, Salt, navigating this limited range of motion. Leaning too far in any direction would mean destruction. Inspired by its extreme duality, this is Salt's existential crisis.
